Hands On Piercing Basics

There are lots of skills you need to refine in order to become a good body piercer. These are the skills you will use over and over with every piercing you perform.

This workshop is to teach you ALL the basics you will need to start your piercing career.

WARNING - this course is NOT for those with a "she'll be right" attitude. In my experience, that attitude RARELY works with piercing.

There is no such thing as "almost straight" or "almost right". Piercing is an exact science, and whilst the human body can be very forgiving, your clients rarely are.

That is why this training has been developed. It will give you all the important basic skills you need to create great looking piercings that will heal well and become your walking talking business card.

If you are not an experienced Piercer - then this course is a Pre-requisite for any of our other Practical Piercing Trainings.

What you will learn:

1. How to accurately mark a piercing

one use only method - with NO cross contamination

2. How to accurately measure a piercing - critically important!

3. How to correctly clamp a piercing

5 different clamps - how and when to use them

4. How to use needle receiving tubes - why and when

5. How to perform a "blade" piercing

Most piercing trainings teach the "cannula piercing method"

6. How body jewellery works

How to measure jewellery diameter, length, gauge

Imperial and metric measuring

Ring opening and ring closing pliers

Bead insertion

 

7. Tapers

3 different types - Why, when, and how to use them

 

8. Successful Jewellery Insertion

One of the most important skills a blade Piercer needs

This skill is the "P" in Professional

 

9. How to "touch" bodies without it seeming "sleazy" or unprofessional.

10. Piercing postions to increase Piercer personal safety.

Once you have successfully completed this training, you will be prepared to move onto the practical piercing training on "real bodies". This can be part of our Piercing Specific Trainings that we offer at The Piercing Urge Training Center.
